Eric,
What type of software would I use to create a standalone widget or a small, interactive program, for instance, one where people could type in English and the return would be Greek? I have created these programs with script language through Widgetbox but I want to create standalone ones and don't know where to start.
For instance, I downloaded your document viewer. What did you use to set that up as a packaged program? Where did the install/run/etc. boxes come from? How did you make it standalone, etc? Can you give me some guidance?
Thanks,
Michael
Glad you like the design. I spent quite a while on it :)
Well, I do all of my programming in .NET. The image viewer was written in WPF, the newest UI programming platform from Microsoft. You could also do it with Windows Forms, which is older but has ubiquitous support in modern Microsoft operating systems.
Other than that you could use Java, C++, or a host of other options, really. What scripting languages do you know?

Eric,
I love the layout of this site!!! Love the athens / sparta logo, that's great. I read your bio, it sounds like we have a lot in common. I've been trying to pick up programming and design here and there but as you know, that can be tough. Love the site, I'm going to bookmakr it and put it on my reader.
